As the Financial sector is experiencing a new wave of technological innovations, which is rapidly transforming its landscape, technological innovations are no more an option, but are imperative. With technology driven revolution in the financial markets, regulators are faced with the challenges as well as opportunities to evolve their functioning more effectively through adoption of new technology solutions. Against this background, LLIM organized a National Seminar on “Digital Infrastructure in Financial Sector”. Eminent speakers of varied backgrounds with industry and domain experience shared their expertise, experience, knowledge and discussed the initiatives taken and required to build a strong digital infrastructure for financial sector. Mr. Arun Dasappa, Sr Vice President at TATA Communication Ltd delivered the inaugural address and discussed the process & challenges faced by financial companies to go from a traditional IT Infrastructure to a Digital Infrastructure. Mr. Himanshu Jain, CEO-IIFL, Wealth Finance Limited delivered a key note address on the role of Artificial intelligence, Machine Learning and how these are going impact the financial space. He emphasized that the development of infrastructure is critical to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. . Mr Dinesh Gandhi, Senior consultant, Cognizant Solution ltd. elaborated on Industry Trends that are currently changing the financial sector and the features that are needed to be implemented by the companies. He also spoke on the new GDPR, 2018 implemented by the European Union in regards to data protection. Mr. Rohan Gawande, Business Associate at Proexcellous School for Professional Qualifications, addressed on digital infrastructure in finance and its compliance with regulatory norm. He also mentioned GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and its importance, which standardizes data protection law across 28 European Union countries and imposes new rules. Valedictory session was concluded with vote of thanks by the Seminar Coordinator Dr. Charu Upadhyaya & Prof. Vikas Sharma.
